Frequency converter deceleration time is very short, and is the occasion of load inertia is relatively large.
When the inverter stops, the load dragged by the motor can not be stopped in time due to inertia, at this time, the motor will become a generator, and the energy it produces will be applied to the inverter module of the inverter, which will cause damage or destruction of the inverter block.
The braking resistor of the inverter is used to consume the energy generated by the motor at this time to protect the motor, to protect the inverter module of the frequency converter.
